MEDICINE SHIELD INDIAN SCHOOL AND COLLEGE PROGRAM

Eastern Illinois University partners with AIAI to offer a fully accredited BA degree Program

The Medicine Shield College Program is offered through the American Indian Association of Illinois. It is the only upward bound type student and family support program not housed in a university but in a Chicago non-profit organization in the state. Through unique partnerships, Medicine Shield offers advising, financial aid assistance, college planning, tutoring and many other services for students and families to succeed in college. This innovative program is offered in collaboration with colleges and universities. Financial aid is available for those eligible. Medicine Shield helped graduate over 40 BA degree earning students in the past six years. Classes are held monthly and on an individual basis throughout the state. Medicine Shield Indian School is located at AIAI, 6554 N. Rockwell, Chicago, IL, 60659. Free street parking is available and CTA bus routes are also nearby.

Student Services

All student services are available Monday through Saturday. Tutoring, internet access, copying services, computers and printers are available for families and students. Financial aid and scholarship application and academic advising assistance are also available. Assistance with emergency funds may be available on a limited basis.
